Interpretation Project: Barbie 60

This project was based around the 60th anniversary of Barbie and it involved me recreated the design of Orange Blossom for another student (Lucy Venables) during my first year at AUB. A waspie and a late 1950s/early 1960s dress was made towards a final photoshoot.

The waspie I constructed was drafted from Mandy Barrington's Stays and Corsets book and the dress pattern was adapted with the help of my tutors. The fabric was sourced myself from Goldhawk Road, London.

After the final photoshoot, my costume was selected to be showcased in the Level 6 end of year exhibition; the only costume from my year.
